Creating Invoices

Generate professional invoices from your orders

Quick Steps

  1. 1Go to Dashboard → Orders
  2. 2Click on the order you want to invoice
  3. 3Click "Generate Invoice" in the order actions
  4. 4Review the invoice preview
  5. 5Click "Create Invoice" to finalize

Creating from an Order

The most common way to create an invoice is directly from an order:

Order Requirements

  • • Order must have a linked client (for billing information)
  • • Order should have pricing information filled in
  • • Works with any order status (pending, in progress, completed)

Important: Orders without a linked client will prompt you to add client information before generating an invoice.

Customizing Your Invoice

Before finalizing, you can customize several elements:

  • Invoice Number: Auto-generated but can be manually adjusted
  • Date: Defaults to today, can be changed
  • Due Date: Set payment deadline
  • Notes: Add custom notes or payment instructions
  • Tax Rate: Apply tax percentage if applicable
  • Discount: Apply percentage or fixed discount

Managing Line Items

Invoice line items are automatically populated from the order but can be modified:

📝 Edit Items

Change descriptions, quantities, or unit prices

➕ Add Items

Add additional line items (shipping, setup fees, etc.)

🗑️ Remove Items

Remove items you don't want on the invoice

↕️ Reorder

Drag to reorder how items appear

Best Practices

  • ✓ Set up your company information before creating invoices
  • ✓ Use clear, descriptive item names
  • ✓ Include payment terms and due dates
  • ✓ Review the preview before finalizing
  • ✓ Keep invoice numbers sequential for record-keeping
